Josephine Keyes
I started my career as a finalist in the Vogue Talent Competition during my finals. I was at Vogue magazine for five years, ending up as copy editor. A career in magazines and newspapers followed until I was bitten by the internet bug in 1994 and became a digital professional. As an early adopter of everything from blogs to social media, YouTube to user needs, I've worked ever since as a content designer for big brands and gov.uk, applying rigorous editorial standards to everything from Land Rovers to mobile phones, policy documents to complaints procedures. I'm also a published novelist and poet, and perform my poetry regularly in London.
My status as sole breadwinner to three children limited my purely creative output in favour of putting food on the table. Now the children are more independent, I hope to revive my creativity. To that end, in 2019, I did a 'real' Master's in Creative Writing at Brunel University London, landing a distinction and the Arts and Humanities Faculty Outstanding Dissertation Prize.
