Phillipa De'Ath
I studied Natural Sciences at Newnham and am currently the Co-Founder of Arbor Education, the country’s leading provider of cloud data platforms for schools in England. I have 20+ years of experience in technology, both professionally and personally, curious to continue to learn and adapt.
I began working in education 10 years ago when I led the recruitment drive for IBM, and I was astonished to find how few graduates had the technology skills they needed which led me all the way back to primary schools. I left IBM to set up two music-focused schools in East London, which now serve 850 pupils and I’m now interested in moving back up along the development path from early years back to university.
Compared to the formal professionals, Technology is one of the most under-represented groups and I would like to help share my own experiences to help any Newnham alumnae considering it as a career path. In-person, I’m happy to meet as part of the annual NatSci dinner or any of the Associates’ events or have virtual conversations with alumnae needing some encouragement or perspective on the industry.
