After studying French and Italian at Newnham, Mary-Ann travelled and worked for charities for a while before teaching caught up with her. Five years as an EAL specialist and a year or two of teaching refugees provided some useful skills, and she is now firmly back in the state sector working with sassy teenagers. She is passionate about access and inclusion, curiosity and kindness, internationalism and young people's mental health.
