Zoe Trodd
After studying English at Newnham (when I also founded the Cambridge Student newspaper), I went to the U.S. with a Kennedy Scholarship after graduating and stayed for a PhD in American Studies at Harvard, then academic posts at UNC Chapel Hill and Columbia University. Eleven years later, I returned to Britain to work as a Professor at the University of Nottingham. I direct the University's Rights Lab, a Beacon of Excellence, and focus on contemporary slavery and human trafficking. I would love to work with Newnham students on antislavery activities (including volunteer placements with antislavery groups and awareness-raising events), and other human rights opportunities.
