I came to Newnham to study Natural Sciences after growing up in Omagh, Northern Ireland. I focussed on Theoretical and Experimental Physics at Newnham and was convinced I would continue on to do a PhD. But a lovely interview at the Bank of England convinced me to try working for them for a year, and I am still at the Bank over ten years later! I have had very different but all equally exciting roles at the Bank from risk managing the UK foreign exchange reserves, to working for the Financial Policy Committee, to having unique datasets to interrogate and use to inform the design of market operations.
I now manage a small team and realise what it is like to be on the other side of hiring decisions, so I would love to share my experience to help with all things career related – CVs, interviewing, and general career support.
