Carol Seigel
I read History at Newnham in the 1970s.
I have had a varied career since then, including spells in NHS management and lecturing in that subject. About 25 years ago I decided to return to History, did a Masters’ degree, and embarked on a career in museums. Since then I have worked in small and large London museums as a curator, in adult learning, and most recently as a museum director.
I have been Director of the Freud Museum, London since 2009, and I am also a Trustee of the Charles Dickens Museum in Bloomsbury.
I have wide experience of working in the museums and heritage sector, which I am very happy to share.
