Sarah Guthrie

I studied Nat Sci Biological at Newnham as an undergraduate, followed by a PhD at UCL and postdoctoral studies in the USA. My research area is neuroscience. I researched, led education and mentored students at King's College, London for many years.

I was Head of the School of Life Sciences at Sussex University for 6 years and am a Professor of Developmental Neurobiology (http://www.sussex.ac.uk/lifesci/guthrielab/index).

I am a strong advocate for women in science and for promoting equality and diversity in higher education. I can offer career support for Newnham students interested in working in academia or in science, including help with CVs and finding work placements in labs.
